Tweets and quakes.

Some people have called this “bad taste” but I think they are being a bit sensitive. Twitter is faster than an earthquake…

Twitter was how I learned about the occurrence of the earthquake, how I got both news and “eyewitness” reports from the quake zone and how I checked-in with my friends on the East coast to make sure they were okay. If I ever doubted twitter was my go-to source for breaking news, I will doubt no more.

I need to make a virus video.

Yes Jen Aniston, in the digital world of advertising and marketing you are insignificant. Kennan Cahill wins.

And this is exactly what I learned after a “professional” week in New York City visiting advertising agencies – talk about good timing finding this video today.

From March 2 to March 6 I hiked around Manhattan with a gaggle of journalism students. We literally looked like a gaggle, with two “mamma” seniors (Morgan and myself) out front who actually knew how to use the subways and about twenty baby geese non-New Yorkers following behind. Breaking the press.

Ready for another sports post and the randomness (fashion, college, journalism, pretty pictures) that is my blog… well here ya go.

Risky Business in a Button-Down.

My favorite item in my closet is a white button-down shirt from Gap. I call it my boyfriend shirt because, if I had a boyfriend, it would look like a dress shirt I grabbed right out of his closet. So today, in effort to look presentable while working as the convergence editor at The Missourian, I wore my white shirt. Sitting here, avoiding my work I finally realized why I love this shirt so much. It is comfortable, versatile and a timeless classic – but it also reminds me of one of my favorite movie scenes. So here it is – enjoy!

I promise, I’m not running around the newsroom impersonating Tom Cruise – but if it was socially acceptable to do so in a room full of strangers, I totally would.
